UGREEN x Genshin Impact Series unboxing and impressions

Consumer electronics brand UGREEN and HoYoverse have teamed up to produce a collection of Genshin Impact themed accessories, and we’ve had a chance to look at the full set.

Before going into the collection proper, it’s worth noting that you can’t buy the gift box set directly. Instead, 100 are up for grabs in Europe as part of a giveaway running up to April 25. The individual themed accessories are freely available via the UGREEN website and Amazon UK.

Initial Unboxing

The UGREEN x Genshin Impact gift box quite large, held shut by two straps and a magnet on the lid itself. Opening it up, you get a large print of Kinich. This whole set is based on Genshin’s 5-star Dendro character, with each item making use of both him and his partner Ajaw for their designs.

Past that, you get to the main stars of the set — the actual UGREEN accessories. There are four main items included in both this set, and available separately:

  • Nexode Power Bank – Genshin Impact Edition (20,000mAh, 130W)
  • Nexode Charger – Genshin Impact Edition (EU Plug, 65W)
  • MagFlow Wireless Charger – Genshin Impact Edition (Qi2, 15W)
  • USB-C to USB-C Cable – Genshin Impact Edition (100W)

All four of these are items already sold by UGREEN, now with a Genshin Impact twist. However, the degree at which they’ve been themed varies per item.

Power Bank

The UGREEN x Genshin Impact power bank is arguably the highlight of the set, featuring most of Kinich’s key art on the front with a textured finish. At 20,000mAh, it’s more than enough to handle multiple phone charges, and the 3 ports (2 USB-C and 1 standard USB) allowing for simultaneous charging.

It’s worth noting that the max charging speed of 100W only applies to port 1, with the others supplying a reduced 30W and 22.5W respectively (even lower if you’re charging 3 devices at once). This means you can only fast charge one device at a time, though lower speeds are more than fine for less power-hungry devices.

Battery and charging status can be checked at any point via the front screen, which also sports animations of Ajaw on startup and standby — the actual UI is the same as standard UGREEN chargers unfortunately. It’s a nice touch, especially if you do make use of multiple ports at a time.

Charger

The only charger type included with the gift box uses and EU Plug, so I wasn’t able to test it out — different region plugs are available to buy separately. While the EU plug features a texture key art design similar to the power bank, it looks like the UK plug has smaller art for both Kinich and Ajaw.

Also like the power bank, the charger features 1 standard and 2 USB-C ports, supplying 65W charging across all three. It’s actually surprisingly small for a multi-port charger, making it a useful companion for traveling. Even the UK version which is more boxy due to the different plug design still looks to keep things compact.

Wireless Charger

The UGREEN wireless charger features the most subdued branding of the Genshin Impact set, mostly relegated to gray glyphs on the main charging stand. There are a few colourful designs on each sides however, both making use of the textured finish found on the regular charger and power bank.

One the top you get a flat Qi2 charger, letting you attach your phone for 15W charging. Fairly standard stuff (albeit faster than older Qi1 chargers), though its real purpose is found one you pull the upper part out. Both the top and the base are connected by a metal arm, which can be adjusted freely. This makes it a good stand if you watching videos or, naturally, playing Genshin Impact using a controller.

The bottom section also functions as a wireless charger, this time recessed to hold bluetooth headphones. This (like the wireless charger in general) is designed with Apple products in mind, though it supports and devices that can make use of Qi charging. You also get another USB-C port for pass-through charging, though this only supports up to 5W.

USB-C to USB-C Cable

Rounding out the main section is a a bright green braided USB-C cable. Supporting up to 100W, it’s a perfect pairing for the power bank’s main port.

Outside of that, it’s… a cable. What there is high quality, with solid braiding and a plastic cable tie featuring Ajaw. It’s definitely a step up from the generic USB cables included with the other devices, and one that’s likely to outlive them after multiple uses too.

UGREEN x Genshin Impact Gift Box Exclusives

While everything above is available to buy freely, the UGREEN x Genshin Impact Gift Box includes a number of extras:

  • Kinich Chibi Magnetic Phone Kickstand Grip
  • Kinich Acrylic Stand
  • Kinich Power Bank Pouch
  • Ajaw Fridge Magnet
  • Kinich Phone Lanyard
  • Kinich Transparent Card

The magnetic phone grip (which includes double sided tape for non-magsafe phones and cases) uses art based on Genshin’s emojis, though the art itself seems to be unique to this set. It works as you’d expect, popping out to all for better grip when holding your phone, or as a stand when set down.

If you’re after something more practical, the gift box set includes a pouch for the power bank. Or rather, it includes both a soft pouch and a larger carry case — this case is also where the plain USB cables are stored. Nice if you don’t want to scratch up the power bank’s screen, though I’d imagine it’ll be fine in most bags anyway.

Rounding out the set are two acrylic art pieces. One features the full art for Kinich and Ajaw, while the other is stylised to look like an Instagram post. The included lanyard features another acrylic piece for Ajaw if you can’t get enough of the little guy.

The UGREEN x Genshin Impact Series is pretty solid, even if the theming is not the most inventive. It might have been nice to have a variety of character from Natlan too, rather than Kinich specifically.

At the very least, these aren’t being charged at a crazy premium over UGREEN’s standard offerings. They’re generally only a few pounds more expensive, and all are currently on sale via UGREEN directly or on Amazon — the latter requires a Prime subscription, however. For £52.49, you get a solid power bank that also happens to be Genshin Impact themed, without breaking the bank.
