VIZ Media score big with new anime and manga announcements
VIZ Media has licensed many popular and acclaimed manga and anime titles including Haikyu!!, Koroko’s Basketball and Hunter x Hunter.
I personally just finished the first season of Haikyu!! and then read this news a few hours later and yes, it is fantastic and you should definitely give it a watch on Crunchyroll. I’m about to start Kuroko’s Basketball but you can already consider me a customer! Hunter x Hunter has become a hugely popular shounen with its 2011 anime adaptation and whilst the author is still penning it, it is at a very slow pace. It will get the blu-ray and DVD treatment in the US and will come with an English Dub – there’s currently no word on a UK release.
Other manga announcements include Seventh Garden, Black Clover, Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter, Everyone’s Getting Married, Yona of the Dawn along with an Art of the Magic the Gathering: Zendikar artbook and episodes of K: Return of Kings being streamed on Hulu’s US service.
Do any of these announcements excite you? I’m happy to see risks being taken on sports manga recently as they’ve always been a hard sell or underperformed, so I hope these perform better as they definitely deserve it.
