White Day Steam Release Announced

PQube have announced that as well as coming to PS4, there will also be a White Day Steam version! This new release of the legendary Korean horror game will arrive onto PCs on 22nd August 2017 worldwide, with the North American PS4 version coming the same date, and EU on 25th.

The original game came out on PCs way back, so it’s great to see the new and improved White Day: A Labyrinth Named School also heading to PC, as well as just coming to PS4 in the west.

White Day has a pretty impressive track record, and has already become quite the sensation with the online horror community even without an English translation. This new release will be the first time players will be able to experience it in official English, as well as a multitude of other languages — and enjoy a wealth of enhancements and tweaks.

The bone-chilling horror game, White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, is widely considered a hidden gem in the survival horror genre. With a skin-crawling atmosphere, bloodcurdling scares, dynamically changing puzzles and multiple endings, this horror classic is being completely remade with expanded gameplay features and new storylines. Both old fans and new players alike will find plenty to love and fear in White Day: A Labyrinth Named School.

In many ways White Day — a survival horror game designed explicitly for first person, with an emphasis on sneaking and enemy avoidance — kickstarted the modern trend of survival horror, from the likes of Outlast to Resident Evil 7. They all owe a debt to White Day. It makes it especially exciting to revisit today, and it holds up just as well!

Hopefully a Steam release will see even more people pick up the game, and there will hopefully be many more streams and Let’s Plays because of it! With some scary games like this I need to watch someone else play it alongside playing it myself to have more confidence… (*/∇\*)

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is releasing on Steam worldwide on 22nd August 2017, and on PlayStation 4 on 22nd and the 25th for North America and Europe respectively.

Spread the love!
