Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World launching in May

The western version of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World now has a release date. It’ll arrive digitally and physically on May 28, 2021 for Switch and PS4, with the Steam launch coming a month later on June 29.

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a modern remake of Wonder Boy IV. Unlike other Wonder Boy releases over the last generation of consoles, it makes use of 3D models and environments.

ININ Games recently shared a new video for the game, showcasing its Japanese voice acting. Fairouz Ai, Jolyne Cujoh’s VA in the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean anime adaption, seemingly voices most (if not all) of the characters in the game.

Various physical editions are still available to buy via the Strictly Limited Games store, with the Mega Collector’s Edition including an Asha and Pepelogoo Figurine. Standard versions are also available from regular retailers, priced at €39.99 / $39.99 / £34.99. Digital (including PC) will be slightly cheaper at €34.99 /  $34.99 / £31.49, though this wont include a copy of the original game.
