Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gets Characters From Final Fantasy and Tales Artists
Along with a new trailer and plenty of info from Nintendo’s recent Xenoblade Chronicles 2 direct, we have a look at some more of the game’s Rare Blades. If the art styles for these characters are familiar, it’s because their artists worked on a bunch of Final Fantasy and Tales games!
Jikareo (CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi, artist: Ryosuke Aiba of CyDesignation)
Jikareo is a powerful blade with a demonic appearance. Artist Ryosuke Aiba has also designed characters for Final Fantasy XI.
Tenni (CV: Aya Endo, artist: Hideo Minaba of CyDesignation)
A girl in a dragon-like mecha. Hideo Minaba worked as Art Director for Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XII, and Granblue Fantasy, and provided some character designs for Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Gurren (CV: Toru Furuya, artist: Minoru Iwamoto of Bandai Namco)
Gurren, the hot-blooded Blade of Justice, was designed by Minoru Iwamoto, Character Designer for Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Zestiria, and Tales of Berseria.
Yaegiri (CV: Ayana Taketatsu, artist: Minoru Iwamoto of Bandai Namco)
Also designed by Minoru Iwamoto is Rare Blade-in-training Yaegiri. She’s energetic and looking for a strong opponent to challenge.
There are a lot of different Blades to summon in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, with lots of different skills and weapons to help you in battle! They have such a variety of stand-out designs from a very talented array of artists too!
