Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi leaving Sega, Like a Dragon sequel confirmed
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has shared an announcement on the studio’s future, revealing that studio head Toshihiro Nagoshi and Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato will be leaving Sega.
Their departure has lead to a restructuring at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, with Masayoshi Yokoyama receiving the title of both director and executive producer.
Yokoyama states that he’s “going to give it [his] all and stay true to [his] words”, while also hoping that fans continue to support Nagoshi and Sato’s future endeavours.
The message from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s new director also confirms that a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon is in development, which will continue Ichiban‘s story (and presumably the new style of gameplay).
We’re looking forward to seeing what the team comes up with in the future, whether it’s Yakuza-related or something completely new.
