Ys IX: Monstrum Nox hits Switch and PC this June

NIS America has announced that Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be launching for PC via Steam on July 6, with the European Switch release taking place a few days later on July 9.

Ys IX for PS4 launched in English earlier this year, with the Japanese release recently receiving 4K support on PS5 (there’s still no news on a patch for the western version though).

Ys IX : Monstrum Nox Story overview via NIS America:

Renowned adventurer Adol “the Red” Christin and his companion Dogi arrive at Balduq, a city annexed by the Romun Empire, only for Adol to be detained before setting foot inside. While imprisoned, he meets a mysterious woman named Aprilis who turns him into a Monstrum, a being with supernatural Gifts and the power to exorcise monsters. Now, Adol must ally with his fellow Monstrum to fend off the fearsome threats emerging from a shadowy dimension called the Grimwald Nox, as well as unravel the mysteries of the Monstrum curse, and the truth behind the unrest within Balduq.

For anyone interested in Ys IX that owns a PS4 or PS5, there’s a demo available via PSN. It’ll be different from the upcoming versions visually (especially compared to the Switch port), but it will at least give you a small taste of the game’s combat.
