UnMetal heads to PC and consoles late September
Developer Unepic_Fran has announced that parody stealth game UnMetal will release for Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC on September 28, 2021.
From a visual and gameplay standpoint, UnMetal takes more than a little inspiration from the original Metal Gear games (if the name wasn’t already a dead giveaway).
While the stealth gameplay is mostly played straight — aside from being able to use things like toilet paper as ways to avoid guards — the game’s plot “piles on the 80’s movie and TV nostalgia”, according to publisher Versus Evil.
The recently released trailer definitely shows what type of game this is, from the sarcastic definitely-not-Solid-Snake main character, to music and sound effects reminiscent of those found in Metal Gear Solid.
While the September 28 release only includes digital copies of the game, a physical release is planned for a later date.
