Metaphor: ReFantazio releasing October 2024, new gameplay revealed
Atlus has revealed that Metaphor: ReFantazio will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on October 11th, 2024.
The release date announcement came as part of a longer showcase for Metaphor: ReFantazio, which gave some more details on what to expect from the upcoming JRPG.
After the kingdom’s ruler is assassinated, the player joins one of many hopefuls in attempting to become the next king. They travel the world, gaining allies and completing requests to gain the support of the people.
More of the hybrid real-time and turn based combat system was shown off, which lets you attack enemies out in the field before switching into something a little closer to the battles ystems seen in modern Shin Megami Tensei and Persona.
Alongside the standard version of Metaphor: ReFantazio, a Collector’s Edition is also planned. This includes physical items such as an artbook and metallic pins, along with costume DLC letting the protagonist dress up as the main characters from Persona 1-5, Shin Megami Tensei 4-5, and the Hero class from Etrian Odyssey Nexus.
