Spike Chunsoft has released a new update for Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, introducing new modes and features into the game.

The highlight of this update is Sacred Tree Dungeons, which allows players to tackle tougher dungeons with different rulesets — one ruleset even lets you play the game as different characters. Kokatsu Shiren, a version of Shiren that could only be used during one dungeon in the main game, can also be used freely during Sacred Tree Dungeons.

In addition to this, the Dojo Challenge Mode has also been opened. Expanding on the Monster Dojo feature, Dojo Challenges allow you to learn more about the characteristics of each monster (though it’s only available after completing the first main dungeon.)

A second update for Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is planned for some time during Summer 2024, which will introduce even more endgame content for players and other improvements.
