Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis launches June 9

We now have a release date for Sega‘s upcoming MMO Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, and it’s not far off. The game will release on June 9 (just over a week away at the time of writing) after a few days of maintenance.

New Genesis is a soft reboot of the original Phantasy Star Online 2, set in the same universe but featuring a new storyline and main setting. It makes use of an updated engine for better graphics, with some of the improvements being backported to PSO2.

A new field area was previewed ahead of the release date reveal, showing multiple parties battling through various ruins.

In the west, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will only be available on PC (via the Epic Games Store, Steam, and the Microsoft Store) and Xbox One, with the PS4 and Switch versions being exclusive to Japan.
