Yakuza: Like a Dragon out today on PS5
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is now finally available on the PS5, just under four months after its Western release on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
A new trailer was released to celebrate the game’s launch on PS5, highlighting Ichiban’s over-the-top JRPG adventures.
Unfortunately, while it’s meant to be possible to upgrade from the PS4 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon to current-gen for free, digital owners are currently having some trouble.
This may be due to the fact that the game is now listed as “Yakuza: Like a Dragon PS4 & PS5” on the PlayStation Network, and licenses for the old PS4 release haven’t been transferred over yet. This doesn’t seem to be affected physical versions at least, and this issue should be fixed soon.
In our review of the PS4 version last year, we stated that Yakuza: Like a Dragon was “a unique entry in the series”, but the change in genres “[presented] its own issues that ultimately drag down an otherwise fun experience”.
