During last weekend’s Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo revealed Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, the first new entry in the Empires series in five years.
Dynasty Warriors 9 wasn’t exactly the most well received Warriors game, as it switched to an open world style that didn’t mesh with the usual hack and slash gameplay.
Hopefully this updated version, with new strategy elements and character creation, will fix the issues many players had with the original release. The teaser trailer certainly didn’t give anything away, so any major info is likely being saved for the next few months.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires is aiming for an early 2021 release. It’ll be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, alongside the series’ next-gen debut on PS5 and Series X. Another first for the series is a Switch release, arriving the same time as every other version.
