Kitsune Tails is a super-cute platformer inspired by Japanese mythology

Kitsune Games has announced that it’s teaming up with developer MidBoss to release Kitsune Tails, a retro-style platformer themed around Japanese mythology.

Featuring some cute spritework and a story focussing on the love between a kitsune and a human, it should be a fun time for fans of classic platformers.

The announcement trailer definitely gives off some Mario 3 vibes, with its different outfits and the ability to pick up and throw specific enemies.

Kitsune Tails is still a while away from completion, currently having an estimated Q1 2022 release date. It’ll be releasing on PS4, PS5, PC and Linux — the latter two via Steam and itch.io.
