Nintendo Reveals Nintendo Switch Lite for Handheld Gaming

We knew something like this was on the way, but now we have full details for the newly unveiled Nintendo Switch Lite. What’s more, it’ll be launching later on this year too! Check out the “First Look” video below:

The Nintendo Switch Lite is a smaller size, with a focus on playing games in Handheld Mode. In fact, it straight-up doesn’t support Tabletop Mode or TV Mode. As such, the Nintendo Switch Lite has integrated controls and doesn’t come with Joy-Cons, a dock, HDMI cable, or kickstand.

All of the games playable in Handheld Mode – across the Switch’s staggering catalogue of over 2000 games already – will be playable on the Switch Lite, though some games will have restrictions. You can still wirelessly connect controllers for other games though. The Nintendo Switch Lite will be release in September for $199.99, available in yellow, turquoise, and grey. A special Zacian and Zamazenta Edition will release for the same price later on November 8th, to tie in with the release of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield on November 15th.
