Persona 5 Official Trailer Released with Gameplay, New Characters and Igor

This is it. Minds are blown as Atlus has finally released the official trailer for Persona 5 which showcases gameplay, combat, new characters and the return of Igor with new twin Velvet Room attendants.

The character shown in the previous trailer seems to be The Phantom, carrying off an elaborate heist, and this might have something to do with his ‘other self’. The combat seems to make more use of weaponry like close-range weapons and guns, allowing you to have multiple weapons again, and if you’ve played Catherine then the visuals should seem pretty familiar to you – the all-out attack cut-ins look very animated, and it seems like masks will play a part in summoning personas. Shoji Meguro has worked his magic on composing once again, and the music still has that ‘Persona’ feel to it.

The two best friends introduced look great and they all seem to be working together, as evidenced when they’re all in outfit trying to run away in a grand building, presumably the scene of the crime. There’s also a cat-like creature which will help you in battle, but I wonder if they can tame it like Yu Narukami – the cat master – could. New girls catsuit type outfit is looking pretty good – can’t go wrong with twintails either.

It genuinely looks amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on it, and any fears I had about it being pushed back have been quelled as it seems to be coming along very nicely. There’s a co-operation system and no sign of Social Links right now, but I hope there are many moments to socialise in the game as it’s one of my favourite things about Persona, but Atlus hasn’t let me down yet!
