TERA ending service June 30, 2022
Gameforge has announced that the western PC servers for MMORPG TERA will be switched off on June 30, 2022.
The reason behind TERA’s closure is due to developer Bluehole Studio ceasing work on the game. This also means that the game will soon no longer be available in any region for PC.
Currently, the closure does not extend to the PlayStation and Xbox releases. However, since those are published by Bluehole Studio parent company Krafton, the chances of the console servers staying up is slim.
This also brings into question the future of ELYON, another Bluehole Studio MMORPG. With Steam player numbers lower that TERA’s — and Steam being the only place you can play the western release — who’s to say if ELYON will continue in 2022.
