Blue Reflection Battle Gameplay Details Revealed
After sharing some further details on how the Blue Reflection battle gameplay will work, Gust also uploaded a video as part of the Blue Reflection livestream that took place recently. Take a look at the battle footage below:
Much of the battle system revolves around the use of emotional energy called Ether. One of the options in the battle menu is the Ether Charge command, which will increase the Ether percentage shown at the bottom of the screen.
The Ether gauge reduces when you choose actions such as healing or guarding, which are real-time button inputs in an enemy’s turn. By continuing to input the command, more Ether is used, and the more effective it will be. Under certain conditions, the Guard command will become Reflect, which can be used to deal huge amounts of damage back at the enemy.
The use of real-time inputs in an otherwise turn-based system is an interesting move, and the battle system looks pretty good overall. The dungeon seems pretty sparse, from the little we can see in the video, but the game continues to look and sound really nice! Blue Reflection looks like a really promising game, so it’s great to have had a glimpse at the battles at last!
Some first-print copy bonuses were also announced during the stream, being a school swimsuit outfit, a theme for the in-game Free Space app, and a system theme.
