Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s final title update is out now
The fifth and final title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne released earlier today, marking the return of a legendary monster.
Black Dragon Fatalis is the main focus of this update, who was originally considered the final boss in the first generation Monster Hunter games.
An overview of Fatalis in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne via Capcom:
There is no record of where the Black Dragon Fatalis came from – or what connection it has to the blighted Castle Schrade that was destroyed in a calamity known only to legend. After previous squads have failed to return from the castle, the Guild has dispatched the General to enlist the aid of the Research Commission to investigate the area. Hunters of the Fifth Fleet bold enough to accept the assignment should prepare for a battle that will make history, and to be rewarded with top-tier armor, weapons and Palico gear to match.
In addition to Fatalis, the update also brings two events that unlock October 16. Firstly, Arch-Tempered Velkhana, an enhanced version of Iceborne’s flagship monster, will be available through a limited-time event quest.
The Fun Fright Festival also makes its return to World the same day, which includes new Halloween themed costumes and items.
Fatalis was the perfect choice for what could be Monster Hunter World’s final farewell. With Monster Hunter Rise releasing next year, this should act as a final difficult challenge for hunters before they move on to the next entry.
