Bidding for Atlus has begun
Things are looking up for Atlus (Persona, Catherine) as apparently around twenty companies have made a bid for the studio (including Sega Sammy Holdings). Some reported to be as high as 20 billion yen (roughly £130m) in the primary auction held earlier this week.
Index Corporation will choose the candidates as early as next week and we can hopefully expect a final buyer by the end of the August.
Index Corporation filed for Civil Rehabilitation on June 27th 2013 due to a debt consisting of 24.5 billion yen (roughly 160m). Atlus has since stated that they would be continuing business as usual and game development had not be affected.
