Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation cancelled

Based on information obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, it has been revealed that Netflix has cancelled the live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation after only one season.

Reception to this adaptation has been mixed to say the least, with our very own Trent Cannon stating that “There are good things going on here — but ultimately the dialogue is the biggest thing that holds it back”.

It certainly faired better than the embarrassing Death Note live-action movie (also by Netflix), which didn’t seem to understand the source material at all.

While this might be the end of Cowboy Bebop’s run, Netflix still have more live-action anime adaptations in the works, including One Piece and Gundam.
