Nintendo Switch Online adds Banjo-Kazooie January 2022

Nintendo has announced that the next Nintendo 64 game to be added to Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pass service is Banjo-Kazooie.

Arriving January 2022, Banjo-Kazooie is the second game to be added to the expansion pass since launch — the first being Paper Mario earlier today.

The initial list of post-launch games also included Pokémon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Golf, and F-Zero X. If Nintendo continue to add games at its current rate, it’ll be at least six months before we see the full list available for Expansion Pass subscribers.

The starting lineup of Nintendo 64 titles was small but generally quite good (though Operation: WinBack was an odd choice), making for a more consistent set of games compared to the NES and SNES offerings. Hopefully it continues with this quality — maybe the service will see titles like Wave Race 64 and Super Smash Bros. in the future.
