Latest Cris Tales patch improves Switch loading times, adds new content

A new patch is now live for Cris Tales, adding in free content and improvements on all platforms.

Well, it should have been available on all platforms, but the Switch version (arguably the one most in need of these fixes) has still not been patched yet. Publisher Modus games is working with Nintendo to fix this, with no new release date given just yet.

For now, owners of Cris Tales on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will be able to unlock the new playable character Adri and take on additional story and battle content. Completing the added story content will reward you with a brand new cutscene and ending.

Once the Switch patch goes live, it will improve loading times by “approximately 30%”. While this sounds like a significant reduction, as I noted in my review, the game’s load times are awful — we’re talking up to 15 seconds total just to get in and out of one battle. Ideally, future patches will bring these times down even further.
