Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires launching February 2022

Koei Tecmo has revealed that Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam on February 15, 2022.

When announced during TGS 2020, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires was originally slated for an early 2021 release window, though it had to be delayed to allow for more development time. This increased development time can probably be attributed to the mixed reception of base Dynasty Warriors 9, with many changes being needed to satisfy existing fans.

The Empires subseries of Dynasty Warriors aims to meld the usual “1 vs. 1000” battles with new strategy elements. In Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, this includes castle sieges and unit types that determine their effectiveness in battle.

A 20th Anniversary Box is available now for PS4, Switch, and PC via the Koei Tecmo EU store, which includes character cards for the entire cast, an artbook, and two soundtrack CDs.
