Multiplayer centric update Ghost of Tsushima: Legends revealed

Sucker Punch Productions have revealed a new update for their hit PS4 title Ghost of Tsushima, bringing fantastical multiplayer missions later this year.

Titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the contents of this update are very different from the base game. Instead of featuring the campaign’s protagonist Jin, you’ll instead get to play through cooperative missions as one of four legendary figures who are revered by Tsushima’s inhabitants.

In a similar vein to some of the DLC for Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey, Legends takes heavy inspiration from Japanese folk tales and mythology for its story. And, if the trailer‘s anything to go by, the environments and enemies you’ll encounter will be far more sinister.

According to the PlayStation Blog post regarding Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, each of the four playable classes — Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin — will have their own abilities and advantages. Using these classes, you’ll be able to tackle new co-op story missions, survive against waves of enemies, and even take on a challenging raid that’s planned to be released shortly after the initial update.

Many single player games have multiplayer tacked on as an afterthought, so it’s great to see that Sucker Punch Productions are taking their time to deliver a unique co-op experience.
