Breath of the Wild prequel Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity announced, releasing November 20
Not the Zelda announcement we were expecting, but still a welcome surprise. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a new entry in the Koei Tecmo developed spin-off series, taking place a century before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
From the music to the cel shaded visuals, it’s clear that this second Hyrule Warriors game is sticking closely to the source material. While this probably means that there wont be anything too crazy compared to the first game, Age of Calamity should help to expand the world of Breath of the Wild.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity launches for the Switch on November 20. A teaser site is now available, detailing the digital pre-order bonus Lucky Ladle. According to the site, this item “may be offered as a paid item at a later date”.
A description of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity via the official site:
Join the struggle that brought Hyrule to its knees. Learn more about Zelda, the four Champions, the King of Hyrule, and more through dramatic cutscenes as they try to save the kingdom from Calamity. Play the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game to see firsthand what happened 100 years ago.
