Standard Switch receives minor price cut ahead of OLED model launch

Nintendo has reduced the price of base Switch consoles in Europe ahead of the imminent OLED model, putting the standard gray and neon blue/neon red versions at £259.99/€299.99.

This isn’t a particularly huge saving, only knocking off £20 in the UK. Not much for a console that’s over four years old, though it does show that the Switch is still selling well even today.

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Nintendo of Europe rep stated that the price change came about due to “a variety of factors, including currency exchange rates in Europe and the upcoming launch of Nintendo Switch – OLED Model”.

The Switch Lite will continue to be sold for £199.99, with the aforementioned OLED model releasing next month for £309.99.
