Valkyria: Azure Revolution Arriving on PS4 and Vita January 19

2008’s Valkyria Chronicles was a game to behold. It meshed tactical prowess with an engaging plot and great setting. After two PSP games, the series is making a return with Valkyria: Azure Revolution, a spin-off which is inbound for PlayStation 4 and Vita early next year.

Sega announced the official release date in Japan as January 19th. The PlayStation 4 version will cost 7,990 yen, whereas the Vita edition will be 6,990 yen. Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive the fully voiced Vanargand Formation bonus chapter for free.

The game’s demo was received with mixed results. Fans were disappointed with the lack of RPG elements, since the demo exclusively focused on the real-time combat. Since then, the developers stated that they will overhaul the game, making it more inline to tactical predecessors. Now Sega announced that at this year’s Tokyo Game Show attendees will receive a code for the new “Battle Trial Version 2.0” which will be available in early October.
