Yatagarasu Enter the Eastward releasing for PC February 19

Yatagarasu Dev Team has announced that Yatagarasu Enter the Eastward will release for PC via Steam on February 19, 2024.

Yatagarasu Enter the Eastward is the latest version of the 2D fighting game series, introducing three new characters — Ugui, Ao Tienyi, and Sistan. Gameplay systems and the rest of the game’s cast have also been updated using “feedback from the fighting game community”.

The development of Yatagarasu has been shaky, to put it lightly. The development team announced Enter the Eastward all the way back in 2017. This in turn was a few years after the original crowdfunding campaign for Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm, the previous version of the game published by now-defunct Nyu Media.

Currently, there’s no information if Yatagarasu Enter the Eastward will be free or cheaper for owners of Attack on Cataclysm. GGPO rollback netcode, something that should have been added as part of the crowdfunding stretch goals, is also seemingly not included — the Steam page mentions that the dev team added their “own netcode from scratch”.
