Dragon’s Dogma anime opening revealed, not what fans expected

Netflix have revealed the opening to the Dragon’s Dogma anime adaption ahead of its September 17 release.

Despite what many us had hoped, the anime’s theme song is not the iconic “Into Free -Dangan-“, which was unfortunately only used in the original Dragon’s Dogma.

At least this new song was handled by the game’s composer, Tadayoshi Makino. It’s more subdued than both Into Free and Dark Arisen’s opening, Coils of Light, which fits what will likely be a more story-driven adaption.

With less than a week until the anime is released on Netflix, we wont have to wait for much longer to see how the anime turns out. One of Dragon’s Dogma’s biggest strengths was its gameplay, so this adaption will have a hard time capturing the magic of its source material.

Dragon’s Dogma synopsis via Netflix:

After losing his home to a dragon, Ethan sets out to hunt it down once and for all. A pawn appears by his side and serves to protect his life. But the dangers that lie in wait for Ethan are beyond their imaginations, for when you fight a monster… you just may become one too.
