The trailer confirms that 15 Nightmares, otherwise known as The World of Recycled Vessel, will be making a return. Originally DLC for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of NieR, 15 Nightmares adds in challenging arena battles, bonus costumes, and even the chance to play as the adult protagonist.
For those unfamiliar with the original NieR, the Japanese release was split into two versions: NieR Gestalt on Xbox 360, which featured an older protagonist, and NieR Replicant on PS3 with a younger main character. The west only got Gestalt, making this the first official English release of Replicant.
There’ll also be a few new NieR: Automata costumes, with their own accompanying music and voice lines from that game’s English and Japanese cast.
Last, but certainly not least, is the inclusion of an additional story episode titled “Mermaid”. This looks to be adapting The Little Mermaid, a short story included in the Japanese only book Grimoire Nier.
All of this will be available when NieR Replicant releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on April 23.
