Sony has revealed that this year’s PlayStation Showcase will take place on September 9 at 9PM BST/10PM CEST.
As with last year’s broadcast, PlayStation Showcase 2021 will be focused exclusively on the PS5. Lasting roughly 40 minutes, there’ll be updates on games created by both PlayStation Studios and other developers.
Despite the focus on its current gen console, PSVR 2 will not be making an appearance during the presentation. Either it’ll get its own event later in the year, or VR for the PS5 wont be ready until 2022 at the earliest.
Previous Sony presentations throughout 2021 haven’t been particularly amazing, though they have at least shown good games every now and then. With the PS5 being almost a year old, this is a good time to finally start unveiling new titles that can take advantage of the console’s hardware.
