PS5 Event Rumoured For Early June

It looks like we’re getting closer and closer to the big PS5 event blowout, with the latest information coming from Jeff Grub at Venture Beat.

According to Grubb’s sources within the industry, the first of two PlayStation 5 events will take place at the beginning of June. The date was once set in stone for June 4, but currently there isn’t a known date for the event.

It looks like we can expect a bunch of new next-gen games to be revealed at this event, including third-party titles that will be available on PS5.

After this event, there’ll be a State of Play in August that will highlight a mix of both current and next-gen titles, but by then, PlayStation 4’s heavy hitters in The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima will both be out in the wild – so it will be interesting to see what they show off for current-gen.

Next-Gen News Aside From The PS5 Event

As a side note, Grubb also noted that Microsoft will continue with their monthly news releases for Xbox Series X, with the next on June 9 or 10. Nintendo don’t have another Direct in the works, and are instead opting for surprise announcements like the recent Paper Mario one.

Again, it’s worth mentioning, all of this is just rumour at this point, but Jeff Grubb is usually accurate with the information from his sources.
