Steam Deck releasing February 25

Valve’s Steam Deck finally has a concrete release date, with the portable gaming PC now launching on February 25, 2022.

Shipments were originally slated to start during December 2021, though the ongoing material shortage issues ended up causing delays.

Now, Valve will start sending out order invites shortly after 10AM PST / 6PM GMT on February 25, in the same order reservations were made. You’ll only have three days to order once the invite comes through, otherwise it’ll be passed on to the next person in the queue.

The Steam Deck definitely has the potential to be a great portable system, especially with the Switch starting to show its age. Being able to install your own OS also means that it’ll be possible to play any titles that have been banned from Steam.
