Story of Seasons is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month, with multiple ports of recent titles being released to coincide with this milestone. Alongside the recently announced Pioneers of Olive Town PC port, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town have received an October 15, 2021 release date in Europe.
The news came as part of a short anniversary trailer released by Marvelous Europe, going over each mainline entry in the franchise (which also included the first Rune Factory title).
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is an odd title in the franchise, being a remake of a remake. The game it’s remaking was also originally known as a Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town in the west, with the series having now switched names due to Natsume owning the rights.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town didn’t change a whole lot from the original game, so it might be a little bland for those used to modern Story of Seasons. It does have its charm, however, and serves as an interest piece of history for the series.
