XSEED Games tease two unannounced projects for 2021
XSEED Games have shared an end of year recap video, detailing all the games it worked on during 2020. At the end of the video, the company’s projects for 2021 are also listed, which hints at two mystery titles.
Some of its more successful releases this year include Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin and Granblue Fantasy: Versus, with both reaching more than 450,000 copies sold globally.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town also managed to do well, selling over 200,000 copies in North America alone.
XSEED Games president Ken Berry had this to say about the publisher’s success:
This was an incredible year for us, and represents one of the more diverse lineup of games we’ve had. Between being able to release titles long in development to releasing fresh surprises, we hope that our games have helped people stay entertained through what has been a challenging year. We want to thank our fans for all their support and we look forward to a new year, and new surprises.
Of the five projects shown for 2021 (including the two unrevealed projects), only Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has a set release date. In fact, Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed was originally intended to release back in 2019, though it looks like it’s been hit by another delay.
