Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III Screenshots
At this year’s Monaco Anime Game International Conferences or MAGIC for short, Square Enix revealed two new screenshots for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake and one for Kingdom Hearts III.
Initially Tetsuya Nomura planned to show a video of the game but Square Enix wouldn’t let him, so you can bet there will be much more at this year’s E3.
The first screenshot shows off the very first boss battle in Final Fantasy VII, a giant mechanical scorpion. It looks like a huge advancement from the original. We can’t wait to see how the rest of the locations and enemies look remastered.
The second has Cloud hiding behind a box while a Shinra soldier opens fire on our protagonist. Unlike before, the battle system will be seamless, so the game seems to be taking heavy cues from Final Fantasy XV. The menus still aren’t finalized, so you should expect changes down the line.
Last but definitely not least, we have our lovable Sora taking on a giant Heartless. According to Tetsuya Nomura this scene takes place in Thebes in the world of Hercules. Sora can be seen wielding a keyblade that can change into various objects, in this instance a shield. Alternatively Sora will be able to transform it into a chariot in its Power Form.
Final Fantasy VII was first teased back in 2005 during E3, however the project was officially announced at E3 2015. Neither Final Fantasy VII Remake nor Kingdom Hearts III have a release date.
