Kirby Fighters 2 released on Switch after leak
Here’s something we weren’t expecting. There’s a new Kirby game out on Switch right now.
Kirby Fighters 2 is a Smash inspired fighting game featuring a bunch of classic Kirby characters. It’s a sequel to the 2014 brawler Kirby Fighters Deluxe, a 3DS title that received solid but unspectacular reviews.
It seems that Nintendo may have unintentionally leaked their own game ahead of schedule. A listing for Kirby Fighters 2 appeared on Nintendo’s website and was swiftly taken down when Twitter users spotted it, shortly after which the game was released.
In Kirby Fighters 2 you can do battle in local or online multiplayer against three friends, or take on the game solo in ‘Single-handed mode’. The game has you wielding “iconic copy” abilities, including Parasol, Ninja, and a new Wrestler ability. It features 22 fighters in total, including 17 Kirby variants and several other well-known characters such as King DeeDee, Meta Knight and Gooey.
Kirby Fighters 2 can be downloaded on the Switch eShop for £17.99. Have a look at the launch trailer below.
