The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 Announced
The Witch and the Hundred Knight was a breath of fresh air when it originally launched on the PlayStation 3. Its perfect blend of Diablo-style hack-and-slash accompanied with the classic Nippon Ichi atmosphere made it one unique game.
Despite its title, The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 will have very little to do with the original. The story will be totally new and Metalia along with the rest of the crew won’t be making a return in this sequel.
You will still play as the Hundred Knight, who will now do Cerca’s bidding. She is a kid who turned into a powerful witch because of her illness. She is accompanied by her younger sister Amelia who is also a witch hunter, but decides to help her sister despite this.
The gameplay too has been reworked, now promising to be more intuitive to newcomers. Kenta Asano, the director behind the original, has stated that they took the reviews of the original into account when working on the sequel. Now levels are auto-generated, hopefully never preventing things from becoming stale in the long run.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 is coming to Japan on PlayStation 4 in winter 2017. We can most likely expect a western release in the future.
