Fatalis is coming in the final Monster Hunter World: Iceborne update

The final DLC for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be released on October 1st, and Capcom is finishing with a crowd-pleaser – the elder dragon Fatalis.

For those not in the know, Fatalis was the final boss of the original Monster Hunter, all the way back in 2004, and has featured in multiple Monster Hunter games since. Extremely powerful, with a hatred of all life, especially humans, this black dragon can be considered the main villain of the entire series.

Just like in previous Monster Hunter games, Iceborne players will fight Fatalis in the remains of Castle Schrade, a fortress which the beastie wiped out years ago. This setting will provide resourceful hunters with siege weapons to aid them in battle, such as cannons, ballistae, and The Dragonator.

Here’s the suitably dramatic trailer that came with the announcement, complete with ominous choral chanting:

The update featuring Fatalis won’t be the last bit of content Iceborne gets. A seasonal event, the Fun Fright Festival, is coming later in October, so get ready to dress your palico in some spooky new Halloween outfits!
