The King of Fighters XIV, the long awaited return of the series and the first in 3D, came out on PlayStation 4 last year. Now it’ll finally become a bit more open, with a The King of Fighters XIV PC release now announced by SNK. From the sounds of it, it’ll be coming quite soon!
As well as just announcing The King of Fighters XIV for PC via Steam, SNK Japan also announced a closed beta would be starting for PC towards the end of the month. While they didn’t announce a release date for the full game, if they’re already starting beta testing soon, it shouldn’t take too long unless it reveals some serious issues.
We had fun with the initial release of The King of Fighters XIV on release, though we did have some issues with it. Since then SNK have done a great job supporting and patching the game to make it quite a bit better, though we’ll always love the retro flair of the original 2D entries in the series the best. It’s safe to say SNK have been putting some extra love into XIV, though, so it’s definitely worth a second look.
It’s unclear as to what will be included in the Steam Edition of the game. Similar late ports have included things like all the DLC, but there’s no information of The King of Fighters XIV. There is, however, quite a bit of DLC.
The King of Fighters XIV is coming to PC via Steam at some point, with a closed Beta this month.
