Nintendo Direct EU roundup

Nintendo held another one of their digital press conferences today, shedding light on some of the software headed to their consoles in the coming months. Here’s a bite-sized list of all the announcements if you don’t fancy watching the video or leafing through twitter.

· Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright confirmed for European release in early 2014. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy confirmed for European release, too – that’ll be hitting stores on the 8th of November

· Sonic: Lost World footage was shown, along with an announcement showing some cross-compatability features with the 3DS.

· The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds was shown, with Iwata promising an “all new link.” If you’re not a fan of ‘all new’ Link, you can have some old link, too; some more footage of Wind Waker HD was shown.

· A HUGE number of unseen Wii U eShop games were shown, as well as some new ones. Interested? Take a look at this.

· On the more practical front, Nintendo showed Art Academy Sketchpad, a drawing game. Music giant KORG have also got on board the Nintendo train with the announcement of the MO1D, a software synthesiser for 3DS.

· Luigi confirmed for the next Smash Bros. Game. SHOCK!

· This is pretty cool: the Animal Crossing Welcome a Friend program was announced. If you register a copy of animal crossing and convince a friend to buy a 3DS XL, they get a copy of New Leaf – for free! On top of that, there’s now going to be an Animal Crossing MiiVerse channel, as well as a Plaza that will allow you to share your animals.

· Super Mario Bros. 2 is now up on the 3DS eShop, as well as SteamWorld Dig.

Excited? Unimpressed? Let us know in the comments below! We’ll be back Friday when Nintendo air their Wonderful 101-centric Nintendo Direct.

Spread the love!
